The Hellenistic period that followed the campaign of Alexander the Great and the conquest of the Persian Empire led to an unprecedented prosperity of Greek culture that flowed throughout the ancient world. The massive hyper-diffusion of Greek culture intermixed with everyone in the known Greek world.
